Welcome to Makemake farm. We are an British/Chilean family living and working on an organic farm in the lush Maule region of Chile. We are passionate about protecting our environment and do everything in our power to live and farm in a sustainable way.
We grow organic blueberries, blackberries and apples, keep pigs (not for food but to help us create nutrient- rich soil!), make vinegar and keep bees.
During January and February we run a bilingual summer camp called Camp Makemake for 6 to 14 year olds.
We care deeply about supporting our local community and sharing promoting organic farming practices with other farmers. We are happy to provide workshops and educational talks at universities, schools or for other groups that wish to learn.
We are happiest when hiking, mountain-biking, baking, reading, crafting, playing board games and spending time outside.
This is our first blog post, and we look forward to sharing our adventures, hopes, dreams and blueberries with you.
